How we receive and use the Berlin Education Program (BBP) and its educational areas for our methods and offers
The areas of education can not be separated and are represented in every offer and project and stands for everything below as well as unspoken.
Body, exercise and health
The child perceives his life experience and the interpretation of this directly through the body and its movement. The emotional perception and development are inseparable. Directly linked to this is health education, which in the long term leads to children being able to provide for their own well-being.
Healthy nutrition is very important for child development. In addition to healthy wholesome food, which we freshly relate with an emphasis on ecological and sustainable nutrition, the design of the food situations has a high pedagogical value. The meals in the day-care centers are cultural and social moments that provide space for attention and conversation (linguistic education) and promote the development of social skills. A pleasant and quiet atmosphere during meals is important to us. Eating habits are positively influenced, because when eating the senses are trained. The children discover the different flavors and choose what they like. Children decide what and how much they want to eat and drink and are involved in food planning so early. Involving children in food choices provides important learning experiences and enhances sensitivity to their needs and self-reliance.
Social and cultural learning
The Kita culture ties in with the family culture and introduces children to the context of the social and cultural fabric that the Kita represents and in which the children contribute with their whole personality. Through various offers in the artistic, sports, musical, nature-related and linguistic areas, a context is created in which the children tap into knowledge. They learn techniques and skills that they can implement and live with their own ideas and their creativity.
Language, communication, writing culture
Multilingualism: The primary languages that we mainly represent are - in addition to German - English, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Polish and other languages. Interculturality: The cultures we represent are the German, Turkish, Arabic, Russian, Polish, Latin American or North American, Nigerian or Syrian culture, although a concept of culture will often elude a purely nation-state perspective. We treat the term culture as identity-creating and community-promoting, inclusive and transformative.
The language concept and individual language support of our day-care centers shows possibilities for holistic and individual language development. Linguistic education does not take place at specific times but integrates everyday throughout the day.
The Kita offers many play and everyday situations in which linguistic educational processes are challenged. This is an all - encompassing task of our pedagogical work in the crèche area as well as with our 3-6 year old children. In order to fulfill this task, the Kita team offers the children a motivating language environment. This is reflected in the selection of game materials and design of our rooms.
Our everyday integrative language education is about language in free play, language in the process of discovery learning and language in social interaction. But also the aspect of targeted language promotion based on selected funding materials is part of our work. Many children in the metropolitan area and in our day nurseries have a migration background and do not always have enough opportunities in their family environment to get in touch with the German language. We want to offer these children early and targeted support in their language development.
